For both mountain bike trips and rentals, we offer Rocky Mountain brand mountain bikes. These lightweight 29er hard tails are perfectly suited to tame our challenging local terrain. Rocky Mountain MTB: Half day 4 hours $35, Full day 8 hours $45. For our hybrid trail tours and rentals we offer both Cannondale hybrid and Cannondale trail 5 bikes. Both types utilize upright geometry for all day comfort on the pathways. Hybrid Bikes: Half day 4 hours $25, Full day 8 hours $35. GLE strives to get children excited about the great outdoors. Hybrid Bicycle Trail Tours
Many towns of Northern lower Michigan are connected via a network of paved or crushed limestone rail trails. These mellow pathways offer majestic views, fitness, exploration, and family fun for all ages and abilities. With a vast variety of point to point, loops, and out and back options, our knowledgable guides can custom pick a pathway tour to meet all needs. Our hybrid bicycle trail tours may include: transit to and from trail, hybrid bikes, kids bikes, tag along attachments, child pull carriers, helmets, bottled drink, and trail maps.
North Central State Trail:
The 62 mile North Central State Trail consists of newly surfaced crushed limestone giving bike riders of any ability a true north woods adventure. Enjoy the area forests, lakes, rivers and abundant wildlife as you visit these quaint towns: Gaylord, Vanderbilt, Wolverine, Indian River, Topinabee, Cheboygan, and Mackinaw City.
North Eastern State Trail:
The North Eastern State Trail consists of 71 miles of newly surfaced crushed limestone. This remote trail follows a late 1800’s rail road corridor, once used to ship Michigan timber. Both rustic and scenic, this trail offers bike tour opportunities for both seasoned veterans and beginner families alike. Along the trail visit the towns of: Alpena, Posen, Hawks, Millersburg, Onaway, Aloha, and Cheboygan.
Little Traverse Wheelway:
The Little Traverse Wheelway provides 26 miles of asphalt trail for all ages and abilities. Magnificent views await as the trail wraps around the Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan. Bring the entire family for a point to point bike tour visiting the charming communities of : Charlevoix, Bay Shore, Bay Harbor, Petoskey, Bay View, and Harbor Springs.

Clients who use their own mountain bike may take 20% off their individual adventure total.
Guide Support - A guide provides shuttle, maps, directions, and instructions. Guide may meet clients to provide lunch. Guide may join clients in their adventure for short durations.

#1 - MTB Shingle Mill Pathway
Approximately 11 miles, Beginner - Intermediate
Fully Guided, 3-4 hours, 10am - 2pm

A beginner’s taste of the High Country Pathway, this 11 mile loop of rolling single track will take riders into the PRC following the path of the Pigeon River.
#2 - MTB High Country Pathway
Approximately 25 miles, Adventurous Intermediate - Advanced

Follow the way of the woods along the tight ribbon of remote HCP single track. This point to point section of trail winds through jack pine barrens, aspen stands and oak forests before dropping onto the Shingle Mill Pathway. North to Pine Grove, may the art of balance be with you, while traversing the maze of single plank boardwalks over tire sinking bogs. To Osmun experience the full array of ecosystems this area has to offer, from dense woodlands to conifer stands.
#3 - MTB High Country Pathway

This “fun 50” is not for the weak. Expect average MTB speed to be in the 4-7 MPH range…. This epic point to point adventure begins with gently rolling terrain before skyrocketing up to Rattlesnake Hill. At 1230’ above sea level, Rattlesnake Hill is the highest point on the HCP. Heading towards Town Corner Lake this section traverses northern hard wood, oak, pine and aspen stands. From Town Corner Lake this expedition follows the route of trip #2.
