Recreational Kayaks - $35 for 4 hrs, $50 for 8 hrs, $75 for 24 hrs
Sea Kayaks - $45 for 4 hrs, $65 for 8 hrs, $80 for 24 hrs
Tandem Kayaks - $50 for 4 hrs, $70 for 8 hrs, $90 for 24 hrs
Paddle Boards - $35 for 4 hrs, $50 for 8 hrs, $75 for 24 hrs
All Kayak Rentals include paddle and life vests. Anyone using the rental equipment must fill out a waiver form. We do take reservations, but if you do not show up within 30 minutes following the agreed time we will release the items for others.
3 Hour Sea Kayak Adventures
Paddle the Marsh
This three hour adventure leaves from our public put in and heads towards the large marsh northeast of Indian River. This area is home to an abundant variety of plants and animals. If your lucky you may see a Bald Eagle or Osprey that fish the surrounding waters. With plenty of side estuaries and ponds to explore this is a great trip for beginners to intermediates and is perfect for kids too. It can be guided or unguided.
Paddle through Indian River
Starting at our public launch you will head down river and through the picturesque Town of Indian River. Paddle your way past the many resort homes until your reach Burt Lake, one of the largest in Michigan. From there you can choose to either explore Burt Lake or head towards the Sturgeon River. This trip is offered in guided and unguided versions. If unguided, you will be picked up at the City Park on Burt Lake.
Explore Burt Lake
Burt Lake is one of the Top 5 largest lakes in Michigan. It is home to numerous resort communities and some of the best paddling in Northern Michigan. You will have your choice of launch points to experience this lake and all trips will finish from where you started.
Half Day Sea Kayak Trips
Through the Marsh
An extended version of our 3 hour trip where you will paddle towards Mullett Lake. We will stop for a light snack on a sandy point and continue around the shoreline to Sturgeon River Bay. From there, time permitting, we will explore the rivers estuary before we head back to Indian River.
Explore Poverty Bay and Bullhead Bay
Leaving from a public launch on Burt Lake, we will paddle around the point and into the pristine Poverty Bay. This bay and its neighboring Bullhead bay are full of fun rivers and estuaries to explore and discover. Perfect for beginners to intermediates and kids! A light snack will be provided.
We are happy to make a customized trip to any body of water in Northern Michigan. We do request a 2 week preparation period before the trip so we can figure out the logistics and itinerary for the adventure.
Full Day Sea Kayak Trips
Alanson Locks to Burt Lake
Start off at the Alanson boats Locks and paddle downstream through the picturesque riverside town of Alanson. Pass under the old swing bridge and listen to your guide tell you this history of this small town. This is a great adventure for everyone from novices to intermediate skilled paddlers. A lunch will be provided by the Great Lakes Eco-Adventure Center along with snacks throughout the day.
Les Cheneaux Islands
One of the best kept secrets in Michigan especially for kayaking is the Les Cheneaux Islands. In French it means "Channel Islands." This area is a favorite resort community and has been for the past century. One unique thing about this area is it is home to one of the largest collection of antique wooden power boats in the world. They are fun to see when we are out on the water. This adventure is fully guided and a homemade lunch may be provided for a small extra fee. Some kayaking experience is required for this adventure.

We would love to customize a day adventure to any body of water you choose. We ask that you please make a reservation with us at least two weeks in advanced so we can figure out all the logistics and itinerary.

Pigeon River - Kayak Day Paddle
#1 - Pigeon River Day Paddle Introduction
All experience levels, 3-4 hours, 10am - 2pm Guide Support - $55 per person / 2 person min.
All experience levels can enjoy this section of river, including children. Expect warm crystal clear water as you wind through the Pigeon River basin. This section of river is slow moving with minimal obstructions. Keep a lookout for one of the 900 head of elk that makes this basin home. Stop along a sandy shore at midway point to enjoy a custom ordered pack lunch.
#2 - Pigeon River Day Paddle Intermediate
Intermediate experience levels, 6+ hours, 9am - 3pm Guide Support - $75 per person / 2 person min.
This section gives the paddler a true taste of Pigeon River Country. Expect fast flowing stream with occasional downed trees, boulder fields and wildlife. Trip includes custom ordered shore lunch.
#3 - Pigeon River Day Paddle Advanced
Adventurous Intermediate - Advanced, 9+ hours, 8am - 5pm Guide Support - $90 per person / 2 person min.
This expedition is a full day of paddling. Starting in the heart of Pigeon River Country this adventure concludes with a 3 hour section of semi-navigable terrain. Expect many short portages over log jams, twist and turn through a labyrinth of jutting stumps, and find your way through a maze of winding tributaries to the end reward of Mullet Lake. Meet your guide at the halfway point for a custom ordered shore lunch.

#1 - Pigeon River Overnight Adventure
All skill levels, 9 hours, Start 1 pm

Your first day of river paddling begins with incredible vistas as you wind through the Pigeon River basin. After several hours of paddling, the rustic camp area awaits. Guides may transport in your hiking shoes, bikes and fishing gear. Here, its your choice to hike, bike, fish or just relax and enjoy the tranquility of the Pigeon River Forest. With guide support, tents, food and gear will be set up. Day two adds more paddling through a variety of changing ecosystems. With many exit points, it’s up to you on how far your paddling adventure shall last.
